Episode 2 Extracurricular Activities
Emily: Hey Lauren. Check out all the great clubs our school has!
Lauren: Those clubs look really fun, but are you sure you'll have time for them once our homework starts to pile up?
Emily: Come on, Lauren. School isn't just about homework This is a great opportunity to try new things.
Lauren: Well, I don't know. This is our first year of high school and I want to make sure that I'm at the top of my class so I can have my pick of universities when the time comes.
Emily: Top schools don't just look at your academic achievements, you know. They want students with various experiences and interesting backgrounds.
Lauren: Oh, really? I was planning on just burying myself in books for the next three years.
Emily: Working hard is important, but having fun should also be a top priority.
Lauren: What do you want to sign up for?
Emily: Well, I did have my eye on the Improv. Club.
Lauren: Improv.? As in improvising?
Emily: Exactly! It's a form of drama where a group of people are given a random sitution and characters. They have to perform the situation using the given characters on the spot--all in front of an audience!
