동명사 또는 부정사를 취해도 의미의 차이가 없는 동사

(f) I remember seeing the Alps for the first time. The sight was impressive. (과거에 일어난 일을 회상하거나 기억할 때 동명사를 사용.)
(g) I'll never forget seeing the Alps. (과거에 일어난 일을 잊을 때 동명사를 사용.)
(h) I regret to tell you that you failed the test. (나쁜 소식을 누구에게 말하거나 알릴 때 부정사를 사용.)
(i) I regret lending him some money. He never paid me back. (과거에 일어난 일을 후회할 때 동명사를 사용.)
(j) I'm trying to learn in English. (무엇인가를 하려고 노력을 할 경우에는 부정사를 사용.)
(k) The room was hot. I tried opening the window, but that didn't help. So I tried turning on the fan, but I was still hot. Finally, I turned on the air conditioner. (일을 하거나 다른 방법을 연구, 또는 실험삼아 하는 경우에는 동명사를 사용.)
