1f. A word used to show the relationship of a noun or a pronoun to some other word in the sentence is a preposition.(명사 또는 대명사가 문장에서 다른 어떤 단어와의 관계를 나타내는데 사용되는 단어가 전치사이다.)
A preposition shows an important relationship of a noun or a pronoun to another word in the sentence. In the example below, the preposition, in heavy print, make a great difference in meaning as they relate house to walked and him to book.
I walked to the house. The book by him is new.
I walked around the house. The book about him is new.
I walked through the house. The book for him is new.
