Determining Parts of Speech(품사의 결정)
1j. What part of speech a word is depends upon how the word is used.(품사가 무엇이냐는 그 단어가 어떻게 사용되느냐에 달려 있다.)
In different contexts the same word may be used as different parts of speech.
1. A quarterback sneak gained a first down.[noun/명사]
2. He made a small down payment. [adjective/형용사]
3. She glanced down. [adverb/부사]
4. She glanced down the hall. [preposition/전치사]
5. Marty did down the champion in the fifth round. [verb/동사]
