It's Sunday morning, and Maki and Koichi are going to Harajuku, Tokyo, with their friends. Harajuku is very famous. Every Sunday it is crowded with young people wearing weird and wonderful clothes.
Maki and Koichi are both seventeen, and they are punks. Today Maki is wearing big black boots, tights with black and whit stripes, and a purple miniskirt. She is wearing an old black T-shirt with a picture of her favorite punk band on it. She has short, pink hair and many earings. Koichi is wearing red boots green army pants and a short, black leather jacket. His hair is blond. His ears are pierced and so is his nose.
'We first came to Harajuku about two years ago,' says Maki. 'At that time we were wearing normal clothes. We liked the fashion and the music here, so we came back very week. It's like a party.' Many of the young people in Harajuku look like their favorite singers. They have the same clothes and hairstyles. But some people don't like all the colors and fashions at Harajuku. 'I think old people are afraid of us,' says Koichi. 'They think we should wear boring clothes and grow up and get boring jobs.'
But Maki and Koichi don't care what other people think. They don't want to grow up just yet! (222words)
