Building vocabulary is the most basic thing in learning any new language.[어휘력 형성은 어떤 새로운 언어를 배우는데 가장 중요한 요소이다.]
This is the foundation all your English knowledge rests upon![여러분의 모든 영어 지식의 기초는 어휘력에 달려 있다!]
There are several ways for building vocabulary.[어휘력 형성에는 여러 가지 방법이 있다.]
Some are better and some are worse. Some are even harmful![어떤 것은 더 좋을 수도 있겠고, 어떤 것은 나쁠 수도 있다. 심지어 어떤 것은 해로울 수도 있다!]
Here I will share with you some important guidelines, and also some words of caution.[여기서 나는 여러분에게 중요한 지침을 공유하고 싶고, 몇 가지 주의할 점을 알려주겠다.]
What is the Best Way to Learn Anything?[뭔가를 배우는데 최선의 방법은 뭘까?]
Well, you need to understand it, and use it.[자, 여러분은 그것을 이해할 필요가 있고, 이해했다면 사용하자.]
Learn to drive Here is an example: let's say you want to learn to drive a car.[여기서 자동차 운전을 예로 들어 배워보자. 여러분이 자동차를 운전을 배우고 싶다고 말해 보자.]
OK! You start by understanding the car and the road regulations.[좋다! 여러분은 자동차와 교통규칙을 이해하고 난 후 시작한다.]
Then you practice, practice, practice.[그 다음에는 계속 연습한다.]
You do that until you KNOW.[여러분이 알 때까지 그것은 계속한다.]
Until it is easy.[거기까지는 쉽다.]
Then you take the test, and get your license.[그 다음에는 시험을 치르고, 면허를 딴다.]
So it is actually a simple process: you understand the ideas and principles, and then you practice them in the "real world".[실제로 그 과정은 단순하다. 여러분이 개념과 원칙을 이해하고 난 다음에는 “현실 세계”에서 연습을 하게 된다.]
That way it becomes part of you.[그런 식으로 운전의 여러분의 일부가 되게 한다.]

Learn interior design Let's say you want to be an interior designer.[이번에는 여러분이 실내 디자이너가 되고 싶다고 말하고 실내 디자인을 배워보자.]
You start by understanding the rules and how it all works: the theory.[여러분은 그에 따른 규정을 이해하고 나서 그것이 어떻게 작용하는지를 말이다. 즉, 이론이다.]
Then you must practice using it.[그 다음에는 여러분은 그것을 사용하는 방법을 연습해야 한다.]
You can get an assignment to go to a place and use that theory.[여러분은 어떤 장소에 갔다고 가정하고 배운 이론을 통해 과제를 맡을 수 있다.]
You use the design data you got to actually design that place.[여러분은 실제로 그 장소를 디자인하기 위해 획득한 디자인에 관한 데이터를 사용할 수도 있다.]
