“Visual Thesaurus”는 한 단계 더 진화한 단어를 “비쥬얼 맵”에 넣어 여러분에게 연결 관계를 보여줍니다.

17. 모르는 사람들과 연습하세요!
여러분의 목적이 영어 이해력을 향상을 위한 것이므로, 가능한 한 자주 여러분이 모르는 사람들과 연습을 하는 것이 매우 중요합니다. 분명히 여러분의 영어 선생이나 여러분의 친구와 영어로 말하는 것은 훌륭합니다. 그러나 여러분은 이미 그들이 말하는 방식에 익숙해져 있습니다. 그들의 액센트에도 익숙해져 있죠!
영어를 더욱 향상하기 위해서는, 여러분은 액센트가 친숙하지 않은 낯선 사람들에게 귀를 기울일 필요가 있습니다. 그들의 말하는 속도가 빠를 수도 있겠고 느릴 수도 있을 겁니다. 일반적으로 말하자면, 여러분이 위에 설명한 14가지 팁에 의해서만 그런 종류의 연습을 할 수도 있겠지만, 직접 얼굴을 맞댄 대화로 바꿔서 연습하세요.

16. Work on expanding your vocabulary.
Improving English comprehension goes hand in hand with expanding your vocabulary. The more words you know, the easier you will be able to understand what is being said around you! Expanding your vocabulary will also assist with improving the quality of your pronunciation.
The easiest way to expand your vocabulary is to take note of the unfamiliar words you encounter (meet) and to work with them when you have the time. You can:
* Translate them
* Pronounce them out loud
* Put them in context
* Make sentences with them
* You can also make vocabulary cards to go back to the new words in the future!
Another easy way to expand your vocabulary is with “Visual Thesaurus”. You may already know that a thesaurus is a book or resource that helps you find synonyms (similar words). “Visual Thesaurus” takes this one step further and puts words into visual “maps,” letting you see the connections between them.
This makes it easy to discover more about the meanings of words you already know, and to discover new, related words in the process.
17. Practice with strangers!
Since your goal is to improve English comprehension, it is very important that you practice with people you do not know as often as you can. Listening to your English teacher or your English friends is great, for sure. However, you are probably very used to the way they speak already. You are used to their accents! [244 words]

To improve, you need to listen to strangers whose accents are unfamiliar to you, whose pace of speech may be very fast or very slow. Generally speaking, you can get that kind of practice by only following tip 14, but it is no substitute for face-to-face English conversations.
Local English conversation circles and Meetups are great for this. College lectures in English could also be very helpful. You may also consider attending events in English schools other than yours to get English conversation exposure in a beginner-friendly environment.
It is a lifelong process to improve English—and you as a student know how hard it can be. But it does not have to be all work and no fun all the time!
