Guided and Recreational Reading(범위가 정해진 독서와 즐거운 독서)
When doing your reading practice, you should combine two kinds of reading.(여러분은 독서 연습할 때, 두 종류의 독서를 결합하여야 한다.
* Guided Reading(범위가 정해진 독서)
* Recreational Reading(즐거운 독서)
Guided Reading(범위가 정해진 독서)
Guided reading is where you are learning new words and phrases.(범위가 정해진 독서란 여러분이 새로운 단어와 구문을 배우고 있는 것을 말한다.)
The kind of reading where you are looking at articles set by your English teacher or to practice a certain category of vocabulary.(여러분이 기사들을 보면서 읽는 종류의 독서는 여러분의 영어 선생에 의하여 정해지거나 어느 범위의 어휘를 연습하는 것을 일컫는다.)
It could be an article or passage on modern furniture because you want to reinforce the vocabulary of that category into your memory.(그것은 어떤 기사일 수도 있거나 현대 가구에 관한 일부 문단일 수도 있겠는데, 왜냐하면 여러분이 특정 범위의 어휘를 여러분의 기억 속에 강화시키고 싶기 때문이다.)
Recreational Reading(즐거운 독서)
But you also need to read books or articles that you enjoy reading.(그러나 여러분은 또한 즐겁게 읽을 여러 책들이나 기사들을 읽을 필요도 있다.)
Recreational reading is reading just for fun. This is good for you as it will make reading less of a chore and something to be enjoyed.(즐거운 독서는 반드시 재미있어야 한다. 독서란 자질구레한 일은 줄이고 즐거워야 할 뭔가가 되어야 하기 때문에 여러분에게 좋다.)
Reading should — and must — be a pleasurable experience too as well as something we do for learning.(독서는 우리가 배움을 위한 뭔가일 뿐 아니라 즐거운 경험이 반드시 되어야 하기 때문이다.)
By making time for recreational reading, it will not seem like ‘work’ and so you will enjoy it more.(즐거운 독서를 위한 시간을 만들어냄으로써, 그것이 ‘일’ 같지 않고 따라서 여러분이 독서를 더욱 즐길 것이기에 그렇다.)
This is where you must read anything that you enjoy. Do not read for work purposes only or study purposes.(이것이 여러분이 즐기는 그 뭔가를 읽어야 하는 지점이다. 단지 일의 목적으로서나 공부의 목적으로 읽지 마라.)
